Reading...Give it a Shot 

BHS has enrolled in the Calgary Flames reading program.  Students will be bringing home tracking sheets to monitor how much they read each day.  Can you please sign the spot needed if they are reading at home?  

When your child reads 60mins (1hour, in grades 5/6) they will earn one reading card. Once they collect all 24, they can move onto the bonus card collection of Harvey the Hound doing funny things! The reading competition starts today (Monday, January 18^th) and ends March 26^th. Teachers will be tracking totals in order to hopefully win a virtual visit from the Calgary Flames. The more they read… the more chance we have of the Calgary Flames visiting our school virtually!

Go Flames Go!

Today was a fast Monday! 

We read and learned about Reading Give it a shot program (see above).  After gym we did more ratio stations.  In LA we worked on our plot mountains with pictures and summaries.    We learned about why we have seasons on Earth in science. After mindfulness we learned about how and why Canada built the railway and how the giant gold rush in Yukon came to be.
