May Pillars of Care Winners and Reasons

 GRADE 5/6 Mr. Shackelton - class nomination and reasons 

Care for Others: Lily - She always tries to include people at recess, and shares whatever she can with others.

Care for Learning: Kyte & Blake - Kyte always does extra work on projects and extension tasks.  He is always ready to help others. Blake is always working hard in class, and trying his best on our class projects.  Blake  removes distractions and gets it done. 

Care for Place: Sadie - She always tidy desk space, when she sees garbage outside and in class she picks it up without hesitation.

Care for Self: Raina - She always packs and eats a very healthy lunch.  She cares for herself by taking care of those around her, and she has a neat working environment.

Pillar of the Month: Ethan - Even though he can’t speak a lot of English, he shows courage each day by coming to school and trying to learn more. He is always willing to try new things, and to make new friends. It's really hard for students to move schools and make new friends without a language barrier and he is overcoming that each day!

Our students did an anonymous vote and then provide reasons of the overall winners. Lots of students tied for 2nd! I was very impressed with their reasons and whom they chose as a class!!
