Reminders

1. Class contracts, school forms, and digital citizenship forms ASAP

2. Spelling Test 2 Oct 2nd words are posted in a previous blog

3. Science Layers of the forest project due Mon. Sept 28th  ---- HOMEWORK ...check your child's bag! 

They had 4 hours this week to complete ...only missing 2 students!

4. Book orders due at the end of the month ...see blog post about them

5. Terry Fox Run Donation - if the school raises $400 they can dress me up!  We are doing great on the donations keep those toonies for Terry coming in! 

6. Orange shirt day is Wednesday!!  We will be doing an LA lesson on it tomorrow and Wednesday.

Today in class we read, and had gym on the compound.  After that we worked on mathletics with a place value focus, and gave some students time to finish up their science homework instead. 

During LA we talked about what makes mood in poems and read through examples, and played a guessing game with them.  Then we finished watching our Terry Fox documentary and shared our 5 things we believe that made Terry a special person.

In social we learned about what is fairness?  And we discussed the difference of equity vs equality.  We will be talking about discrimination tomorrow and injustice.

After lunch we had mindfulness and for science we learned about the forests by watching Bill Nye and filing out a hand out to the video.  Then due to student interest we learned about people cut down massive trees.
