 All I can say is wow!  Thank you so much for all the kind words and gifts.  I was brought to tears today by it all.

I just wanted to say thank you for raising some awesome little people!  Your kids rock and made my year so amazing!  I love and will miss them all!

Free Summer Programs from City of Calgary!

 City of Calgary - Free Summer Programs

​The City of Calgary will be running free summer programs for children 12 and under. Parents can visit the City of Calgary website for more information. 

Free Glasses for kids under 10!

 Clearly is offering Free Glasses for Kids age 10 and under. Parents or guardians just need to book a store visit, bring their child’s health card and recent prescription (written within the last year), and choose a pair of kids’ glasses.

We started Narnia 3 for LA.  We did mathletics in the afternoon and had music.  We also had a sun safety presentation and the students were awesome during it!

June Pillars of Care Winners

Care for Others: Raina, Lucas - These 2 students are deserving of this award for this month.  They share everything with their friends to help keep them happy.  They are very generous students. 

Care for Learning: Fynn, Diamond, Sadie  - Throughout this month these 3 students have been excellent role models for the other students by showing them that June is still a month for learning and getting your work done.

Care for Place: Secoya - She was instrumental in helping to clean our class after projects, laptops, and organizing my room for the end of the year.

Care for Self: Owen, Ethan, Simon  -  These 3 students have been owning their learning and caring for self.  They really improved this year and really learned how to help themselves a lot this year.

Pillar of the Month: Amira, Amy, Alex  - These 3 students always have a positive attitude and outlook on life!  Their optimism is very contagious!  Keep this moving forward you guys!

Today we got ready for the whole school smudging process.  Our class was great during the whole event.

We finished Prince Caspian and will be continuing the Narnia journey tomorrow.

We also worked on our genius hour projects for the last hour of the day.

In science we are building pasta towers to see who's is the strongest, we are still continuing this and hopefully are done tomorrow.

Grade 6 Grad info - please read!

Dear Parents, Families, and Friends of BHS,  

We hope this message finds you well.  The grade 6 graduation will be this Thursday, at 1-230pm, held online.  Unfortunately, due Covid regulations and privacy restraints placed on quite of a few students this year, parents will not be able to attend the ceremony.  If we had parents be able to attend that would exclude students from celebrating their own graduation.  We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. 

 

As a grade team, we will upload our PowerPoint, awards, and teacher speeches for your viewing pleasure on our Google Classrooms.

In math we continued to learn about angles and triangles.  Protractors are being tricky, but the 6s are helping the 5s.  We are moving onto another mini unit Wednesday, graphing.

In Health we learned about blood born pathogens, and how to protect ourselves from them and did the questions box

We also continued doing our mindfulness, but inside today to avoid the rain

We learned about how insects fly and what makes them different than birds.

In Health we learned about the male reproductive system, reviewed the female one and started to talk about how those organs reproduce together.  

We also continued doing our mindfulness, but inside today to avoid the sun.

In science we learned about more about how some birds fly and some don't.  Tomorrow will be insects.
